Latin en Caraïbische muziek bestaat uit uiteenlopende genres, stromingen, stijlen, ritmes en mengvormen die een bijzondere competentie van de musici vragen. Muziek-concoursen voor jazz- en popmuzikanten en beoefenaars van klassieke muziek zijn er in overvloed. Latin muziek is in Nederland sterk vertegenwoordigd maar een serieus concours op dit gebied was er tot nu toe niet.

Festival Dias Latinos in Amersfoort brengt daar nu verandering in met de nieuwe Dias Latinos Award.
Speel je Latin muziek of speel je mengvormen hiervan met wereldmuziek, jazz, pop of andere genres? Geef je nu op voor de Dias Latinos Award.

De aanmelding voor de Dias Latinos Award is nu geopend. Klik hier voor het online aanmeldingsformulier.
De voorrondes vinden plaats via een online inzending. Sluitingsdatum voor aanmelding: 17 mei 2021

Voorwaarden en criteria

Wat moet je indienen?
• Een video met twee stukken (links) De totale duur van het materiaal mag niet langer zijn dan 8 minuten. De ingezonden opnames mogen fragmenten uit een langere uitvoering zijn.
• De opname moet van dezelfde musici zijn als diegenen die tijdens de finale zullen spelen. • Info van de band met korte bio’s van de leden.
• Motivatie voor deelname
• Uit de inzendingen worden 6 finalisten gekozen.
• De finalisten spelen elk 30 minuten Live tijdens het concours.
• De finalisten ontvangen hiervoor een vergoeding.

Wie kunnen er deelnemen?

Musici en bands die zich bezighouden met Latin muziek of mengvormen hiervan. Je band is beschikbaar op 3 juli overdag om deel te nemen aan de finale. .
Als bandleider kun je je maar met één project aanmelden.
Als bandlid mag je je aanmelden met niet meer dan drie bands.

Eerste Prijs € 2.500,- plus officieel concert tijdens de eerstvolgende editie van Dias Latinos.

 

The Dias Latinos Award

Dutch Festival Dias Latinos launches a new competition for Latin musicians and bands!

Latin and Caribbean music are made up of many diverse genres, styles, rhythms and mixtures, demanding special competences from musicians. While music talent
competitions focusing on jazz, pop and classical music are plentiful, and Latin music is
strongly represented in the Netherlands, there is no serious competition dedicated to this field - until now.

During its 25th anniversary year, Amersfoort based festival Dias Latinos is going to change that by launching its new Dias Latinos Award!
Do you play Latin music or a crossover with other global sounds, jazz, pop and beyond? Then apply for the Dias Award now!

The registration for the Dias Latinos Award is now open.

The preliminary selection will be made based on your online submissions by our international jury. Six selected artists / bands will be invited to perform live at the final during the festival 3rd juli 2021, where a single winner is chosen!
Competition performance: maximum 30 minutes.
All finalists will receive compensation.

What to submit?

• Links to videos of two live performed pieces
  • Maximum total duration: 8 minutes (submitted recordings may be excerpts of longer performances).
  • The videos must reflect the same line-up that you submit in the form and will play during the final.
  • Artist / Band bio with short info on the members.
  • Motivation to participate.

Conditions - Who can participate?

Musicians and bands actively engaged in Latin music or mixtures thereof.
You must be available on the 3rd of July to perform live in Amersfoort.
Band leaders are limited to one project application, band members to three.
Dias Latinos Award. Winner receives a prize of € 2,500 plus an official concert during the next edition of Dias Latinos
