Meet Julian Julián Garvayo a very talented trombonist

Julián Garvayo Pérez-Requeijo is a very talented Spanish trombonist, born in Vienna (2004) into a family of professional musicians.
He began his classical trombone studies at the P. Antonio Soler Conservatory in El Escorial, while from an early age developing a strong passion for jazz
and other genres such as flamenco, funk, Cuban, Brazilian, and salsa music. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Trombone at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
He has performed and recorded with renowned artists including Demetrio Muñiz, Alain Pérez & su Orchestra, Interactivo de Cuba, Barbarito Torres, Los Van van, Maite Hontelé, Jim
McNeely, Marshall Gilkes, Bill Laurence, and David Rivera, among others. He has also been a member of the Jong Metropole Orkest and the Nationaal Jeugd Jazz Orkest (NJJO).
He regularly performs with Buena Vista All Stars, David Rivera, La Novia (Maite Hontelé), Gerardo Rosales, and several other ensembles. He has appeared at major venues and festivals worldwide, including the North Sea Jazz Festival, Concertgebouw and Bimhuis in Amsterdam, Columbia Halle and Konzerthaus in Berlin, jazzahead! in Bremen, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Indigo at the O2, Melina Merkouri Theater in Athens, the National Opera House of Ireland, Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in Puerto Rico, Smalls Jazz Club and Times Square in New York, La Vitrola Social Club, Fiesta Cristal La Piragua, Yarini in Havana, Sala Apolo and Jamboree Jazz Club in Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional, Ateneo, and Sala Villanos in Madrid, Dubai Opera, Ngayogjazz in Indonesia, and Nita Mukesh Ambani Centre in Mumbai.
He has given masterclasses at the EVA “Eduardo Abela” in Artemisa (Cuba) and Konservatori Padmanegara (Surakarta, Indonesia). Currently, he is touring with his own project, Julián Garvayo Sextet, in which he presents his original compositions.
Keep an eye on Julian because you will definiitely see him on one of the big stages here in Holland or anywhere else in the world.
